Real Madrid icon Raul Gonzalez snubs Leeds offer, stays with Castilla
Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez has reportedly decided to stay with the B team at Valdebebas and continue his coaching journey, declining a tempting offer from the Premier League.
Despite Leeds United's recent manager search following the axing of Jesse Marsch earlier this week, Raul has rather set his sights on leading Castilla to promotion in the third division and potentially pursuing a move abroad in the future.
Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola is also being linked to the Leeds United managerial position.
However, in a recent press conference after a 2-0 victory against Almeria, Iraola brushed off the speculation and focused on giving credit to his players instead.
"Football belongs to the footballers, we as managers are not that important. The players make us look better and I am lucky to have players who are showing their level," Iraola stated.
The Spanish manager refused to be drawn into any speculation, instead opting to give all the credit to his team's success.
With Raul Gonzalez potentially being a future Real Madrid manager and Andoni Iraola's contract at Rayo Vallecano expiring in the summer, both Spanish managers remain committed to their respective clubs and are determined to lead their teams to success.
