Raheem Sterling next club odds: Will Chelsea man move on deadline day?

Chelsea's Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling’s days at Chelsea appear to be numbered – the question is, will the England man move on deadline day?

Chelsea kicked off the new Premier League season with a 2-0 defeat to defending champions Manchester City, but bounced back with a thumping 6-2 win against Wolves.

Despite the result, the biggest story to come out of the opening weekend concerned a statement which was released by Raheem Sterling and his team.

The forward was absent from the first matchday squad alongside other big names such as Ben Chilwell, Conor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku.

The statement from Sterling’s camp called on the club to provide clarity on the forward’s situation.

The post-match discussion was dominated by the story as pundits debated whether Sterling still has a future at the club on the back of his unorthodox statement.

Here, we take a look at the reaction from the bookmakers and where they think Sterling will end up shortly.

Juventus – 2/1

Italian giants Juventus are said to be on full alert as they target a potential transfer swoop for the England man.

The Old Lady has been busy in the transfer market, acquiring the likes of Douglas Luiz, Juan Cabal and Khephren Thuram.

Sterling would certainly be a solid addition as the club look to improve on their third-placed finish from last season.

Arsenal - 2/1

Arsenal already have one England winger on their books in Bukayo Saka, along with other familiar faces like Ben White and, of course, manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta was part of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff during Sterling's spell at Man City and will be well aware of his potential.

There has no concrete links that a deal is about to happen heading into deadline day, but the Spaniard may feel if anyone can get the best out of Sterling, he can.

Man Utd - 3/1

Erik Ten Hag has made several additions this season, but with Rasmus Hojlund injured, Antony underwhelming and Joshua Zirkzee still relatively young, the Reds haven't improved their forward line that much.

Sterling may not be the fan's first choice having represented Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea in the past, but he would improve the Reds if he finds his A game.

Juventus - 7/2

The Italians are in the market for a winger on deadline day, but it looks like they're about to wrap up a deal for Manchester United's Jadon Sancho.

That particular move also damages Sterling's chances of landing at United, as the Blues would have targetted Sancho in a swap deal.

Still, The Old Lady may come calling if Sancho's loan move falls through.

West Ham – 21/1

Julen Lopetegui will be hoping to make his first season in charge of West Ham a successful one.

With that in mind, any extra addition to his squad will be more than welcome. That includes Raheem Sterling.

Question is, will the Irons want to pay the players’ £325,000 weekly salary?

Everton – 39/1

Everton endured a very difficult season last year and narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.

This season is expected to come with more hardships and Sean Dyche and his men play out the final season at Goodison Park.

Sterling would represent a much-needed attacking addition to the squad, though considering the club’s current financial constraints, such deal is unlikely.

Fenerbahce – 39/1

Jose Mourinho got off to a frustrating start as Fenerbahce boss after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

A narrow defeat to Lille means the legendary manager will not mark his return to the biggest club competition in the world.

The lack of major European football could put Sterling off a move to Turkey. Then again, there hasn’t been much Champions League football during his time at Chelsea.
