PSG wave goodbye to quadruple hopes after crashing out to Marseille in Coupe de France

Marseille celebrate win

Paris Saint-Germain crashed out of the Coupe de France after losing 2-1 at Marseille.

Alexis Sanchez's penalty and Ruslan Malinovskyi's winner sent Marseille through.

Sergio Ramos levelled in first-half stoppage time but the Ligue 1 leaders must wait to add to their 14 titles after exiting in the last-16.

This is the second straight year in which PSG have failed to progress to the final of the Coupe de France.
The Parisians reached seven straight finals between 2015 and 2021, winning six of them.
The defeat to Marseille also ends PSG's hopes of completing the quadruple.
Christophe Galtier's men remain top of Ligue 1 and will take on Bayern Munich in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
PSG have already secured one trophy after claiming the Trophee des Champions at the start of the season with a win over Nantes.
Speaking of the Canaries, the reigning Coupe de France holders edged past Angers 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw while Lyon also beat Lille 4-2 in a shoot out after finishing 2-2.
Rodez beat Auxerre 3-2, Toulouse overcame Reims 3-1 and Annecy knocked out Paris FC 6-5 on penalties.
Grenoble advanced following a 1-0 win at Vierzon.
