Wednesday's over/under 2.5 goals free betting tips and predictions

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are in action on Wednesday night as the Carabao Cup continues and the Europa League begins.

We've picked out five matches that we think are likely to produce three or more goals for your betting pleasure.

Arsenal vs Bolton - 1/3

Liverpool vs West Ham - 4/9

Bodo Glimt vs Porto - 8/13

Man Utd vs FC Twente - 1/2

Midtjylland vs Hoffenheim - 1/2

 

Arsenal vs Bolton Wanderers (7:45pm BST)

It would be a nice moment if Bolton could find the net at the Emirates, but even if they do, they aren’t likely to make much of a game of this.

On the other hand, a sizeable away support could spur them on to raise their game.

If they can contribute then it makes the first leg of Wednesday’s acca straightforward, but Arsenal are capable of scoring three or more against a League One side. 

 

Liverpool vs West Ham United (8pm BST)

Whilst Liverpool were putting Bournemouth to the sword inside 45 minutes at the weekend, the Irons were on the end of another hammering against Chelsea.

If they continue to defend as openly as they have been, Arne Slot’s side will have no trouble carving them open time and time again.

The two side's met in quarter-finals of the competition last December, and Liverpool thumped their East London visitors 5-1. 

Changes to both sides starting XI may allow them to be a little more competitive though, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see both teams score.

 

Bodo Glimt vs FC Porto (5:45pm BST)

Porto may be fancied to claim all three points on opening night, but a trip to Norway to face Bodo Glimt is a challenging task.

The hosts are becoming a regular on the European scene and even Premier League runners-up Arsenal found them a tough nut to crack back in 2022.

The hosts scored 44 goals in 15 European ties, including those against Besiktas and PSV. Whenever we see Porto compete at this level, their games tend to produce goals.

 

Man Utd vs FC Twente (8pm BST)

Manchester United need to seize every win they can. After beating Southampton 3-0 in the Premier League and thumping Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup, they failed to find a way past Crystal Palace.

FC Twente dropped into the Europa League on the back of a 5-4 aggregate defeat to Besiktas in qualifying, and whilst they will fancy their chances of scoring, their results away from home show they can’t help but concede in bunches.

 

Midtjylland vs Hoffenheim (8pm BST)

Everything about the way these teams play screams goals. The hosts will want to push numbers forward and take the game to Hoffenheim, who rarely throw caution to the wind and have kept one clean sheet in 35 competitive matches.

So far this season, Midtjylland’s last six matches have produced 26 goals whilst the German side's five competitive matches have produced 21 goals.
