New Werder Bremen signing Naby Keita ruled out for several weeks
New Werder Bremen signing Naby Keita will be out of action for several weeks after suffering an abductor muscle injury.
New Werder Bremen signing Naby Keita has been sidelined for several weeks with an abductor muscle injury.
The former Liverpool man sustained the injury in the warm-up to Bremen's pre-season friendly against VfB Oldenburg and scans and examinations with team doctor Dr. Georg Tsironis confirmed the injury on Monday.
"It's extremely disappointing for Naby and us as a team," explained head coach Ole Werner. "We will do all we can to get Naby fit again as soon as possible. We have to accept that he will likely miss the first couple of matchdays. He will still travel with us to Zillertal. We have the perfect setup there for him to do his rehabilitation and he can continue to integrate into the team too."
The 28-year-old midfielder joined SV Werder on a free transfer from Liverpool this summer.
