Marc-Andre ter Stegen signs contract extension with Barcelona

Marc-Andre ter Stegen of Barcelona

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has signed a new contract with the club that expires on June 30, 2028.

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has committed himself to the club with a new five-year contract.
The event for the contract extension took place on Friday in the Spotify Camp Nou offices with president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafa Yuste, economic vice president Eduard Romeu, board member Joan Soler and sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza 'Deco' in attendance.
Ter Stegen joined Barca in May 2014 from Borussia Mönchengladbach and is in his tenth season with the club.

The 31-year-old's debut came back in September 2014 in a Champions League game against APOEL Nicosia and up to now has made 379 official appearances for the Blaugrana.

That figure places him in fourth place on the all time list of appearances for Barça goalkeepers. This season he could well move past Antoni Ramallets who is on 387. With his contract extended to 2028 Ter Stegen also has Andoni Zubizarreta on 410 matches and record holder Víctor Valdés on 535 in his sights.

In his near decade with the club, Ter Stegen has an enviable list of honours: 5 league titles, 5 Copas del Rey, 1 Champions League, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 1 European Super Cup and 1 Club World Cup.
