Manchester United turn down Borussia Dortmund's loan offer for Jadon Sancho
Manchester United are not open to sending Jadon Sancho to Dortmund on loan.
Manchester United have rejected Borussia Dortmund's loan offer to bring Jadon Sancho back to Germany, two years after selling him to United for £73million.
The Red Devils have no interest in allowing the 23-year-old winger to return on a temporary basis.
However, they are open to considering permanent offers from other clubs interested in signing him.
A potential bid of around £45million could be sufficient for Manchester United to do business this summer, cutting their losses on a player who has struggled to meet expectations since joining in July 2021.
Sancho's first season was hampered by injuries, and his form has been inconsistent, unlike his previous status as one of the most sought-after young talents.
Despite spending time in the Netherlands last season to recover physically and mentally, Sancho has only shown glimpses of his true quality.
Manchester United's manager, Erik ten Hag, seems unwilling to wait any longer for Sancho to regain his best form. The winger has not played for England since being dropped prior to the World Cup finals.
In contrast to his successful spell at Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 38 goals in 104 league games, Sancho has managed just nine goals in 55 league appearances for Manchester United.
