La Liga: Real Madrid delighted with deal for 16-year-old Brazilian striker Endrick
Real Madrid secured the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick in late 2022, beating out competition from other clubs like Chelsea and PSG.
The teenage forward's explosive performances for Palmeiras' youth sides and subsequent breakthrough in the first team made him highly sought-after.
Los Blancos agreed to pay €35 million plus add-ons to Palmeiras, bringing the entire deal's value to €60 million.
Endrick will join Real Madrid in 2024 when he turns 18 and has signed a contract until 2027, with an option for a three-year extension until 2030.
Despite a slow start to the 2023 season, Real Madrid remains convinced of Endrick's potential as a top talent.
The young striker recently scored a goal in the Paulista finals, helping Palmeiras secure a 4-0 win over EC Agua Santa and adding the Brazilian Super Cup and the Paulista championship to his CV.
"Criticism that it was too early to start me in the 1st team? I always take criticism on board," said Endrick after the triumph.
"I have 3 senior trophies now, with a goal in the final... maybe I'm ready to start for U20s."
