Levi Colwill: Chelsea can take 'positives' from draw against Crystal Palace

Levi Colwill

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has expressed a positive outlook following the team's 1-1 draw at home against Crystal Palace.

Despite the setback, Colwill remains confident that the squad is progressing towards something significant.

His optimism reflects the broader belief within the team that manager Enzo Maresca's new tactical style is beginning to show promise.

Chelsea have qualified for the league phase of the Conference League and accumulated four points from their opening three Premier League matches.

The team's recent fixtures included a thrilling 6-2 away victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, showcasing their attacking prowess.

However, their encounter with Crystal Palace saw them dominate the first half and parts of the second period, yet they could not secure a win.

"We are Chelsea Football Club, we expect to win every game, but of course games like Sunday's are going to happen," Colwill was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"Crystal Palace are a good team, that is what they do best. We need to improve and hopefully in the next game we beat them.

"There are loads of positives to take out of it. Of course there's a lot to improve, but we are improving day-by-day. We're getting better and you can see the football we're trying to play out there is really good.

"We've created loads of chances by building from the back. You can see the way the gaffer wants us to play and there's definitely loads of positives to take.

"We are building. We've only had a few games with the new gaffer, but it's really exciting. All the players are excited for it and I think the fans should be too."
