Leeds United reject bids for Diego Llorente and Georginio Rutter

Leeds United have rejected an offer for Diego Llorente from Real Betis as Brighton's bid of £30m for Georginio Rutter is shut down by the West Yorkshire club.

Brighton's initial talks with Leeds United were shut down after an opening bid in the region of £30m was rejected.

The Seagulls have also shown an interest in Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, and Glen Kamara, with Stade Rennais rumoured to be close to sign Kamara according to reports on X.

The Whites have already made it clear that they are unwilling to let go of Rutter unless a significant bid comes in for the French forward, the same goes for Kamara who only recently joined the club last summer.

Adam Pope on X also claimed that the club had turned down an offer for Diego Llorente, who spent last season on loan with Roma, from Real Betis.

The Spanish defender joined the club back in 2020 but has failed to impress the Leeds fanbase over the last few seasons.

The club has already managed to offload other players who went out on loan last season, including Marc Roca to Real Betis and Jack Harrison back on loan to Everton.

The most recent one being Darko Gybai heading back to Plymouth Argyle on loan.

On Tuesday Leeds went through the pain of losing star player Archie Gray as he joined Tottenham with Joe Rodon heading the other way to Elland Road.

However, the sale has seemed to help the club financially as they look to hold onto other star players including Summerville, Rutter and Gnonto.

Daniel Farke will want to know soon enough who he can keep hold of and include in his plans for next season's Championship promotion push.

He has already made it clear that Charlie Cresswell can leave after he tried to seal a move to French side Toulouse, but the deal collapsed in the latter stages of negotiations.

The players all reported for the first day of pre-season training on Tuesday at Thorp Arch as they prepare for the season ahead.
