Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie close to Leeds switch
Leeds manager Jesse Marsch’s American revolution is well and truly underway with the transfer of Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie on the brink of completion.
Contract talks have reportedly already been completed and agreed between McKennie and Leeds, now all that is left to do is for Juventus and the West Yorkshire club to settle on a fee.
McKennie is worth around £18.5million and the deal should go through before the end of the January transfer window.
Juventus have been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately after receiving a 15 point deduction due to problems with their finances. The Old Lady are looking to move McKennie on as he has recently been out of favour following Juventus' 5-1 loss to Napoli.
The 24-year-old would likely slot straight into the squad as Leeds already have some US internationals among their ranks such as Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson.
McKennie had a stellar World Cup and was among the best performers for the USA as they reached the round of 16 in Qatar.
The midfielder would be an ideal addition to the Leeds squad as it would relieve some of the pressure on a midfield that is already stretched.
Despite the midfielder being a quality addition to a struggling Leeds side, some fans claim the defence is the area which needs upgrading the most. Although, Scott Dallas is set to come back within the next month.
