Juventus news: Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik delighted to be playing in Serie A for Bianconeri
Arkadiusz Milik has revealed that he was targeting a move to Juventus for quite some time before it finally materialised at the end of August.
The 28-year-old was plying his trade at French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille last season, before completing a loan move to the Bianconeri.
Milik explained that it was an easy decision for him to make the move to the Old Lady of Italian football, as it's one of the elite clubs in the world.
"I've always approached the transfer market with calm, focusing on the pitch and letting my agents do their job. I told them to bother me only if there was a real offer," he told Polish site Meczyki.
"After a game against Nantes, they relayed that the Bianconeri were after me, and I decided quickly. It has always been my dream to play in such a big club. There are only a handful of them in the world.
"I'm glad for this opportunity, and I had nothing to lose. Wojciech Szczesny called me often. I knew they tracked Memphis Depay too, but I didn't have many info."
Milik also shed light on a previous attempt to sign for Juve, adding: "I was indeed close to joining the Old Lady in the past, but the two clubs didn't reach agreement.
"I'm happy everything worked out in the end and that I ultimately had the chance to move to the Bianconeri anyway."
Milik has scored two goals in four Serie A appearances for Juve so far this season.
