Jadon Sancho's Christmas homecoming: Borussia Dortmund eye sensational swap with Man Utd

Jadon Sancho of Manchester United

In a winter transfer window twist, Borussia Dortmund are brewing up a potential blockbuster move, and it might just pave the way for the return of Jadon Sancho (23)!

The English winger, who made an £85 million switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in 2021, finds himself sidelined at the English giants. With just three brief appearances in the current Premier League season and exclusion from first-team training, Sancho is keen on an exit, eyeing a return to his comfort zone in Dortmund.

According to Sport BILD, it seems like a potential swap deal could be on the cards, with Manchester United showing interest in BVB forward Donyell Malen (24). The Dutchman, now under the representation of Maikel Stevens, son of Schalke legend Huub (70), has set his sights on a move to England.

Stevens' agency, SEG, also manages Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund and coach Erik ten Hag.

So, could we witness a trade between Man United and BVB? The scenario involves Dortmund possibly loaning Sancho or offsetting the deal with Malen. However, for Sancho's comeback, financial sacrifices might be in order.

His current salary in Manchester stands at around £14 million per season, making him the highest earner. Yet, it's a hurdle not insurmountable, considering Niklas Süle tops Dortmund's payroll with approximately £12 million.

Having invested €30 million in Malen two years ago from PSV Eindhoven, BVB are reportedly seeking this amount for the sale of the Dutch international. The prospect of Sancho's return to Dortmund adds an extra layer of excitement, leaving room for speculation that BVB might gift their fans a true transfer spectacle for Christmas.

As the winter transfer window approaches, keep an eye on Dortmund – a Sancho-shaped Christmas surprise may just be in the works.
