Gareth Bale ramps up shock Cardiff City summer switch after Steve Morison 'talks'

Gareth Bale has fuelled speculation he could be set for a sensational summer move to hometown club Cardiff City after he met with Wales' medical team at the club's Vale of Glamorgan training ground.
The 32-year-old is a free agent after a nine-year stay with Real Madrid and his session with the Football Association of Wales' physios on the club's first day of pre-season training has ramped up speculation he could be about to join Steve Morison's Bluebirds.
Cardiff City share the same training base as the FAW and hope to enter into talks with the five-time Champions League winner, who will be out of contract on June 30.
Bale is understood to be weighing up a number of options, including a move to MLS or return to Tottenham, and hopes to have a new club ahead of playing for Wales at the World Cup in Qatar in November.
Bale was born and raised in Cardiff and, while his salary could be a stumbling block - he reportedly earned £600,000 a week with the La Liga giants - a return home may not be out of the question.
He is understood to have met with manager Morison on Wednesday for talks about his future.
Speaking while on international duty with Wales last week, Bale told reporters: "I don't really know if the standard makes too much of a difference. A football game is a football game.
"I feel like I'll never really lose my quality on the ball. I guess it's a conversation to be had.

"I need time to think what's the best move for me, my family, my kids, and hopefully we'll sort that over the summer. I have options."
Reports suggest Bale hopes to make a decision on his future ahead of his return from holiday on July 16.
He scored 106 goals for Real Madrid - including a sensational overhead kick in the 3-1 Champions League final victory over Liverpool in 2018 - as well as winning four Club World Cups and three La Liga titles.
