Franck Kessie? Milan Skriniar? Lautaro Martinez? Who will Antonio Conte bring to Tottenham?
Antonio Conte is keeping close tabs on Milan for future recruitment, and we’re not only talking about Inter.
Conte arrived at Tottenham Hotspur to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo who was sacked following a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.
It is not surprising to see the 52-year-old linked with a number of players who he knows well from his previous job at Inter. However, the Italian also has his eyes on a number of talents from the city's other club.
Graeme Bailey takes a look at five players who could swap San Siro for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Franck Kessie - AC Milan
We begin with one of the players that featured in our free agent XI - which you can read here. The Ivorian midfielder is emerging as one of the most coveted players for 2022.
Having turned down numerous offers of a new contract at San Siro, he is seemingly heading for the exit doors in the new year.
The 24-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to sign a pre-contract in January.
Antonio Conte is a confirmed fan of Kessi having looked at him during his spell with Inter, and there is a good chance they will link up by the summer of 2022. Bookies have him priced up at 6/4 to joined Spurs before the end of next summer.
Marcelo Brozovic - Inter Milan
The classy Croatian is another midfielder, and one who the new Spurs boss admires. During his time with Inter, Brozovic was a key member of Conte's title-winning side.
The 28-year-old has played over 250 games for the Nerazzurri, but is another name who is out of contract in 2022.
Inter are working very hard to keep him, but with his former boss Conte finally back in soccer, a move to Tottenham is most certainly on the cards.
Likewise with Kessie, there are a number of suitors for Brozovic's signature but Spurs are certainly in contention as the odds of 6/4 on a 2022 move testify.
Milan Skriniar - Inter Milan
Alessio Romagnoli - AC Milan
Milan are continuing talks, but if he is available then it is believed Conte has given the green light to the club to pursue him. Odds of 8/1 suggest he might struggle to land him, however.
Lautaro Martinez - Inter Milan
Romelu Lukaku's partner in crime during Inter's title charge was Argentine Lautaro Martinez.
The 24-year-old is one of Europe's most highly-rated strikers and he has just signed a new long-term deal.
However, should Spurs finish in the top four and secure Champions League soccer, could you rule out a move for Martinez? Probably not. But at 10/1 it looks unlikely.
