FC Bayern Munich eye defensive boost with Nordi Mukiele transfer from PSG

Nordi Mukiele of PSG

In a bid to strengthen their defensive lineup, FC Bayern Munich are set to make a significant move, with Nordi Mukiele emerging as the top choice for the right-back position.

According to Sky Germany sources, all parties involved are optimistic that the deal will materialize soon.

Sporting director Christoph Freund is keen on securing Mukiele's services and is pushing for a loan deal with an option to buy. The aim is to finalize the agreement this week and swiftly integrate Mukiele into Munich's defensive ranks.

Confidence is reportedly high within the Bayern camp, fuelled by a verbal agreement that has been in place for several days between the club and the player. Mukiele himself has communicated his eagerness to make the switch to the Bavarian capital.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are also optimistic about finding a loan agreement with Bayern. The French club acquired Mukiele in 2022 for €12million from RB Leipzig, where he gained Bundesliga experience from 2018 to 2022. Despite the initial investment, PSG have had little use for the 26-year-old lately, often relegating him to a reserve role.

In the event that the Mukiele deal falls through, Bayern have an alternative in mind. As reported by Sky, Sascha Boey from Galatasaray Istanbul is considered the top option for the Munich side.

This potential transfer signifies Bayern's proactive approach to address the defensive challenges they currently face. With Mukiele's experience and versatility, the club aim to bolster their backline and maintain a competitive edge in both domestic and international competitions. The imminent decision on this transfer could reshape Bayern's defensive dynamics for the upcoming matches.
