Deadline Day: Tottenham go transfer crazy in final hours of the window

Tottenham January transfer window

It’s been a busy day of transfers in north London with Tottenham confirming the capture of two names from Serie A.

With the January transfer window set to close in the next few hours, certain clubs have stepped up their activity.

Tottenham are one of them after securing two new signings, and also moving a number of players on.

Here's an evening round-up of all the action on deadline day.

Spurs bag Juve duo

Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have both joined Tottenham from Juventus.

The Uruguay midfielder has been signed on a three-and-a-half-year deal while his Swedish teammate arrives in North London on loan.

Bentancur cost the club around £17million as Antonio Conte looks to beef up his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Kulusevski, who has made 27 appearances for Juventus this season, will join Spurs on an 18-month loan which will set the club back £9million. The deal includes an option for purchase.

Record signing loaned out

In the summer of 2019, Tottenham shelled out over £55million on Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
Two-and-a-half years on, the player is set to return to Lyon in a loan deal until the end of the season.
The French club will have the option to make the move permanent for around £50million.

Bryan Gil returns to Spain

Another Tottenham man on the move is Bryan Gil.
The player joined Spurs in the summer but failed to make an impact after recording just nine appearances.
The Spaniard is now heading back to his homeland where he will join Valencia on loan.

Newcastle complete another deal

After securing the signatures of Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood and Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle have now added another name to their 'done deals' list.

Eddie Howe's side have completed the loan signing of Aston Villa defender Matt Targett.
The left-back joins the Magpies until the end of the season as the club continues to battle against the drop.

Frank Lampard not wasting time

It's been a busy day for Everton who not only announced Frank Lampard as their new manager but also bagged two major signings.

The Toffees have confirmed the signing of Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, as well as Manchester United's Donny van de Beek.

Good evening at Villarreal

Villarreal have confirmed the signing of Giovani Lo Celso.
The Tottenham midfielder will join Unai Emery's team on loan as he looks for more game time.

No deal for Jesse Lingard

Newcastle United and West Ham were both hopeful of completing a deal for Jesse Lingard.

However, both clubs have been left disappointed as Man United are unwilling to let Lingard go in this window.
