Leeds star Crysencio Summerville reportedly has release clause of £20m but could leave for less
Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has a £20m release clause according to Dutch outlet 1908.nl but could leave for just half of that fee.
Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has been a long-time target of Arne Slot at Feyenoord and could leave for a bargain.
Summerville joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020 for around £1.25m and has since made 40 appearances in all competitions for the first team.
1908.nl now claims that he could make a return to Feyenoord stating that: "Leeds United require a minimum of 12,000,000 euros.
"There is a large clause in the contract with the English relegation player that is more than double the amount mentioned."
Reports last week suggested Leeds had already rejected a bid in the region of £10m for the Dutch winger from Feyenoord.
Summerville seems keen on a move away from Elland Road and Feyenoord are not the only club interested with Dortmund, PSV, RB Leipzig and Aston Villa monitoring his situation.
The 49ers will most likely prefer to only consider selling if a club matches the reported release clause in Summerville's current contract.
After agreeing on a new deal to stay at Feyenoord, Slot has been keen to improve their attacking threats with the club interested in Keito Nakamura and Luka Ivanušec as well as Summerville.
Of course, there are doubts about bringing Summerville back to the club after he reportedly got into a fight with Mats Knoester in training when he was with Feyenoord according to a tweet by TheSquareBall in November 2019.
Leeds United are already facing a huge dilemma with many key players set on moves away from the club, as recently Tyler Adams has gained more interest with Brighton joining the fight for his signature.
The club have yet to appoint a new manager and look set to announce the new head coach this week.
Whoever takes charge will have a lot of trouble trying to convince players such as Summerville to stay with the club in the EFL Championship.
