Coventry City can make it five wins on the spin when they welcome Championship leaders Leeds United to the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday (1945 GMT).

The Sky Blues have been perfect the past four weeks, beating Bristol City, Blackburn Rovers, Watford and Swansea City.

Who better have a go at knocking the league’s best side off the perch, which they achieved here last season with a 2-1 win before their FA Cup semi-final, as we dig into our latest Championship bet builder which is priced at 10/1 at the time of writing.

Coventry City v Leeds United betting preview

Throw Frank Lampard into the mix, a man who Leeds fans simply cannot stand - we imagine the feeling is mutual, mind you - and we’ve got ourselves a cracking fixture.

On the other hand, this is business as usual for Daniel Farke who has overseen a 13-match unbeaten run and five clean sheets on the bounce.

The Whites will maintain their grasp on first place regardless of Wednesday’s result, though they’ll need at least a point to guarantee they remain there come the end of the week.

Recent meetings with City have proved challenging and this marks the beginning of what is arguably Leeds’ toughest five-game stint this season.

You could argue that a point serves both sides well, as United would come through a banana skin unscathed, while City extend an unbeaten run that has propelled them toward the play-off places.

Their defence looks sturdier under Lampard’s stewardship, conceding one or fewer goals in eight of their last nine matches. Previously, conceding in bunches was an issue.

Likewise, Leeds have allowed just seven goals in 15 matches, with Ilan Meslier shouldering almost all of the blame for helping Hull to become the only side to breach his side more than once.

Even under Mark Robins, the foundations were in place for Coventry to do better than they did, as demonstrated by their xG stats across the season.

Leeds are odds-on favourites to win but we believe they should be comfortably above even money, with a predicted xG of Coventry 1.08, and Leeds 1.25.

This game could swing either way but defences could well be on top and it wouldn’t be that big an upset should the hosts claim a result.

We also think it’ll be a fiery encounter driven by a big crowd at the Ricoh, with neither side backing out of the challenge. The yellow card market is appealing.

With 14 goal involvements and taking 2.5 shots per game on average, Dan James looks the most likely to make the breakthrough in a tight game.

His pace continues to torment defences, with the speedy Welsh winger turning in his best performance of the season against Cardiff City at the weekend.

On the other side, we’re going to risk a big price and back Victor Torp to hit the target. Leeds will likely prove tough to break down, but City's freekick specialist isn’t afraid to have a pop from a distance.
