Chelsea transfer news: Blues looking to add Inter Milan star Andre Onana to their ranks
Chelsea are preparing to make an offer for Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer.
Chelsea are looking to bolster their goalkeeping ranks this summer with the potential signing of Inter Milan star Andre Onana.
This comes after Frank Lampard's men have had a season to forget.
Both of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have been called upon this season and both have performed below average.
Former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino, is looking set to join the Blues this summer, replacing interim manager, Lampard.
With this in mind, a deal for Onana has already been agreed by the Argentine as he looks to better their results in the upcoming season.
This was initially reported by
Sport Witness who claim that negotiations between the clubs will commence in the coming weeks.
The Cameroon international only signed for the club last summer, in hopes that he would be a long term replacement for Inter legend, Samir Handanovic.
However, the 27-year-old has often found himself on the bench as he and Handanovic have never consistently started.
Despite this, the Italian giants are reportedly looking for a fee worth around £35million.
It is also claimed that to try and lower the fee, Chelsea are looking to include a player within the deal.
Offers thus far have included players such as Trevoh Chalobah, Arrizabalaga and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Each of these offers have so far been declined.
Additionally, Onana has only recently returned from a 9-month ban after falling victim to a false positive on a doping test after taking paracetemol.
If the Cameroon international were to join the Blues, he would be a welcome addition to the squad and provide the squad with a world class goalkeeper.
However, following their major £600million spending spree this season, a deal may not be viable due to financial fair play.
