Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry unfazed amid transfer speculation
Serge Gnabry has remained calm amid rising transfer rumours, particularly from Newcastle United and other Premier League clubs, about his future at Bayern Munich.
The German winger, whose contract still has two years remaining, expressed his desire to focus on the upcoming Bundesliga season with Bayern.
Bayern plan to offload several key players to finance their squad overhaul, and Gnabry's name has frequently emerged in transfer rumours. Newcastle United, among others, have showed interest in securing his services.
However, Gnabry feels no pressure to leave and believes he can still significantly contribute to the team.
In an interview with Suddeutsche Zeitung, Gnabry addressed the swirling transfer rumours: "I find it a bit crazy how wildly speculation is going back and forth, not just with my name, but also with the names of my teammates.
"Especially as we all still have valid contracts and are still playing football at the highest level." He added, "I want to get back into shape and perform the way I'm used to.
"I still have two years left on my contract; there's no pressure."
At 29, Gnabry has faced increased competition for a starting spot following the arrival of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. Yet, he has remained undeterred, relying on his experience and consistent performance over the years.
"How long have I been here now? Six years. A few other wingers have arrived in that time, and whenever I've been healthy, I've still played," he said.
"I think I can speak for everyone who is supposedly being questioned right now: Our last few years haven't been that bad."
Gnabry's track record at Bayern is impressive, with 238 appearances, 86 goals, and 52 assists. His focus on maintaining form and contributing to the team highlights his commitment amidst the uncertainty.
