Bayern Munich loan promising young defender Frans Kratzig to Austria Wien
FC Bayern have loaned promising young defender Frans Kratzig to Austria Wien until the end of the season.
Kratzig, 21, made five appearances for Bayern across all competitions this season and recently signed a new contract with the Bavarians to expire on 30 June, 2027.
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director said it is an ideal opportunity for Kratzig to play regular first-team football and gain more experience.
"Frans Krätzig is at a stage in his young career where he needs to be playing regularly in order to continually improve his level. At Austria Wien he has the chance to take the next steps at first-team level. We'll be following his progress very closely over the coming months," said Freund.
Vienna sporting director Manuel Ortlechner spoke of a "win-win situation" and pledged that "we can offer him the necessary match practice so that he can develop even better."
