Barcelona announce signing of Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque

Barcelona have signed 18-year-old Brazilian striker Vitor Roque for an initial €30m, with a further €31m in bonuses.

Roque has been capped by the Brazilian senior side and has scored 22 goals in 21 appearances for Athletico Paranaense.

He is their starting striker and has 5 goals and 3 assists in 13 Copa Libertadores appearances.

Barcelona have beaten off Premier League interest in Roque, who is seen as the next great number nine for the club.

He will arrive next season to learn from Robert Lewandowski before eventually taking over from the Polish striker.

Roque has signed a seven-year deal with Barcelona and will be officially presented as a Barcelona player in July 2023.
