Atletico Madrid confirm Marcos Paulo departure to Sao Paulo FC in Brazil

Atletico Madrid have confirmed that forward Marcos Paulo has returned to Brazil on-loan to São Paulo FC for 2023.
The 21-year-old striker joined Atleti from Fluminense in 2020 and big things were expected from the youngster but things have certainly not gone to plan.
Paulo is yet to play for Atletico in La Liga. He spent his first season at the club being loaned out to Famalicao in Portugal and failed to score in 20 games.
In the 2022 season, Paulo was loaned to Mirandes in Segunda - scoring two goals and two assists in 15 games.
Sao Paulo FC confirmed signing forward on-loan for 2023 Paulo via their Twitter feed.

The player has a contract with Atletico until 2026 but does have a buy-out clause in his deal should Atleti want to let him leave following the loan.
