Antoine Semenyo future confirmed as Bournemouth make ‘important’ decision ahead of new EPL season
Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with the Premier League club.
The 24-year-old Ghana international has scored nine goals in 47 appearances for the Cherries since joining from Bristol City in January 2023.
Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: “It has been clear for all to see the rate of Antoine’s development since joining 18 months ago.
“He has gone from strength to strength and enjoyed an incredible first full season with us.
“Agreeing on a new long-term contract was important for us to recognise his contribution as a key member of our squad, and we’re excited to see this continue for years to come.”
Semenyo was a key member of the Bournemouth side which set a new record for the number of points won in a single Premier League season – 48 from 38 matches.
That points haul allowed the Cherries to bag an impressive 12th placed finish.
The news comes one week since Lewis Cook also penned a new deal at the Vitality stadium, securing his future for the next four years.
Bournemouth boss Adoni Iraola is building his squad for the new season and has also brought in Enes Unal from Getafe and Alex Paulsen from Wellington Phoenix in Australia.
The Cherries will head to the United States for their first set of friendlies later in July.
Meanwhile, their first Premier League game of the season will take place on August 17 away against Nottingham Forest.
A week later, they will play their first home game of the season when they welcome Newcastle United to the Vitality Stadium.
