Struggling Tomas Soucek on target as West Ham ease through to Europa Conference League group stage
Under fire midfielder Tomas Soucek gave his critics something to think about after scoring and providing an assist in West Ham's convincing 3-0 win over Danish side Viborg.
Soucek has been under performing for West Ham since last season and many have called for the Czech captain to be dropped. However, he put in a slightly better performance against the Danish side, although he will need to do a lot more to convince fans he should remain in the first team.
West Ham, without a point or a goal after three matches in the Premier League, ran out comfortable 6-1 winners on aggregate over the two legs of their qualifying play-off to reach the group stages of the Europa Conference League.
Soucek provided the cross for Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca to open the scoring midway through the first half with his second goal in two European appearances.
