USMNT: Who will join Christian Pulisic and Sergino Dest in Qatar 2022?
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is coming into view and it's going to be a battle for players in the USMNT to stake their claim to be in the first lineup of the tournament. But who will be starting?
Christian Pulisic and co. are determined to right the wrongs of 2018, and if they do indeed secure qualification, here are some of the emerging and already established players who could very well make the cut.
GOALKEEPER - Zack Steffen
Club: Manchester City
Age: 25
Steffen's illustrious performances for club and country were rewarded when he caught the attention of Pep Guardiola, switching over to the blue side of Manchester in July 2020 for a £7million fee, making him the most expensive MLS goalkeeper of all time.
RIGHT BACK - Sergino Dest
Club: FC Barcelona
Age: 20
A star student of the world-renowned Ajax academy, Dutch-born Dest plied his trade in the club's youth system for more than seven years, familiarising himself with the acclaimed philosophy of Johan Cruyff.
CENTER BACK - John Brooks
Club: Wolfsburg
Age: 27
CENTER BACK - Chris Richards
Club: Bayern Munich
Age: 20
LEFT BACK - Antonee Robinson
Club: Fulham
Age: 23
The 23-year-old was all set to sensationally swap the DW Stadium for the bright lights of San Siro when he failed his medical due to concerns over an irregular heartbeat, taking transfer talks way past the allotted deadline.
CENTER MIDFIELDER - Weston McKennie
Club: Juventus (On loan from Schalke)

CENTER MIDFIELDER - Tyler Adams
Club: Red Bull Leipzig

CENTER MIDFIELDER - Yunus Musah

Captain America has already cemented his place as the first name on the USA team sheet and barring any more bad luck with injury, this doesn't look set to change any time soon.

STRIKER - Josh Sargent
