July 12 Transfer Zone: Antoine Griezmann off to Manchester United?

Antoine Griezmann of FC Barcelona

The transfer merry-go-round is back in full swing. Planet Sport sifts through the masses of transfer rumours on social media to find the ones that might become a reality.

Planet Sport takes a look at Monday's social media transfer rumours, including Antoine Griezmann leaving Barcelona, Raphael Varane to Manchester United and Liverpool's chase of Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez.

Antoine Griezmann

French striker Antoine Griezmann has reportedly chosen his next destination. However, Barcelona clearly aren't quite as keen on accepting his request.

His eyes are on a return to Atletico, but Barcelona don't want to make the same mistake they did with Luis Suarez by letting Griezmann go to their rivals.

They would rather he moved to another country, with Manchester United and Chelsea interested. But we might as well throw Manchester City in there too, as they are linked with any striker who has scored more than ten goals in a season.

Saul Niguez

Liverpool's offer for Atletico's defensive midfielder Saul Niguez, who just likes to be called Saul, isn't up to the Spanish side's valuation.

Barcelona and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the Spaniard as well. However, it is Liverpool who have made the only offer so far, albeit just shy of Atletico's asking price.

But has he earned the right to be known by one name yet?

Hector Bellerin

Arsenal's most-famous vegan Hector Bellerin wants a move to Inter Milan...don't we all, I've heard it's lovely in autumn. However, no agreement has been made between Arsenal and the Serie A champions.

Inter are looking for a replacement at right-back for their recently departed Achraf Hakimi, who joined PSG last month. But are they searching north London?

Ruben Neves

Arsenal are looking at replacements for the outgoing Granit Xhaka (as in leaving, we don't know him well enough to comment on his personality). Their hunt has them targeting Wolves' Ruben Neves, which their fans will be thrilled about.

Neves is a solid midfielder and perfect for the flaky Arsenal side. He signed for Wolves in 2017 and has missed only nine league games in the last four years. Cue a massive injury the moment he pulls on the red and white of the Gunners.

Wolves are considering offers of £35million for the Portuguese international. Arsenal are also looking at fellow countryman Renato Sanches.

Raphael Varane

In true three-year-old toddler style, Raphael Varane wants a Manchester United move, but we can't have everything now can we? The Red Devils have put their hands in their pockets but the offer is short of Real Madrid's asking price.

A solid centre-back, like Varane, is just what United need alongside England hero Harry Maguire. Although I'm sure that's said every season.

Steven Berghuis

Steven Berghuis has made a Eredevisie swap move from Feyenoord to Ajax. The fee and agreement is sorted, all that's left is the medical.

The Dutchman has played for Feyenoord since moving there from Watford in 2016. He made 199 appearances for them and was part of their title-winning squad in the 2016/17 season.

Erling Haaland

Chelsea fans still remain hopeful that the Blues can and will land Haaland in what would be the biggest deal for the team ever.

A price tag of €175million has been slapped on the young Norwegian by Dortmund. That's no small chunk of change, but if anyone can splash that amount it's definitely the champions of Europe...but only if Roman Abramovich is feeling super generous.
