Super League acca: Rampant Wigan Warriors, struggling London Broncos, super Salford

After their first win at St Helens for 44 years, Salford take on league leaders Wigan in the next round of Super League fixtures.

The Red Devils defeated 12-man Saints with a late try from Deon Cross whilst Wigan continued their perfect start to the season thrashing London 60-22.

Leeds and St Helens go head to head on Friday with the Saints looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat.

Elsewhere, London, Castleford and Leigh are still looking for their first wins of the season.

Here, we take a look at each fixture in our latest Super League acca.

Salford vs Wigan Warriors (Thu, 2000 GMT)

The first game this week sees Salford host Wigan Warriors where the Red Devils will be looking to cause another upset but this time against the reigning champions.

Salford lost their first game of the season against Leeds Rhinos but since then they have dispatched Castleford and Hull KR before pulling off a remarkable victory over the Saints.

However, Wigan have made a perfect start having easily seen off Castleford, Huddersfield and London scoring 30 points or more in each game.

Despite Salford’s good form, we are expecting Wigan to come out on top in this one.

TIP: Wigan Warriors to win

Leeds Rhinos vs St Helens (Fri, 2000 GMT)

Leeds came back from 16-0 down at half-time against Leigh to win 22-16.

Apart from a disappointing defeat against Hull KR, the Rhinos have made a decent start to the 2024 Super League campaign with three wins so far.

St Helens did start well, defeating Leigh, Huddersfield and London, but their defeat against Salford means they will be looking to get back to winning ways against Leeds on Friday.

Going with a 1-12 winning points margin would be smart with both sides in equally good form.

TIP: Winning margin 1-12 points

Huddersfield Giants vs Hull KR (Sat, 1500 GMT)

After defeats to Wigan and St Helens, Huddersfield came out swinging against Castleford thrashing them 50-8 away from home.

Rovers come into this fixture after two straight losses as they narrowly tasted defeat to Warrington in a thrilling contest.

Before that, Hull KR opened their Super League account with a convincing victory over their rivals Hull FC and then went onto beat Leeds Rhinos.

We are backing Rovers to turn around their recent form against the Giants.

TIP: Hull KR to win

Hull FC vs Leigh Leopards (Sat, 1500 GMT)

It has not been a great start to the campaign for either side as Hull FC were beaten by their local rivals Rovers with two red cards.

Then defeats to Catalans and Warrington piled on the misery despite a narrow victory over newly promoted London.

It has not been any better for Leigh with no wins and three defeats to Leeds, St Helens and Huddersfield.

However, considering Leigh’s first half performance against Leeds, we would expect Leigh to beat Hull FC.

TIP: Leigh Leopards to win

Catalans Dragons vs Castleford Tigers (Sat, 1730 GMT)

It has been a good start for the French side this year, picking up wins against Hull FC, London and Warrington.

The 34-0 win over London being their most emphatic win whilst Castleford have had a rough start to the year.

Losses that include 8-50 to Huddersfield, 4-32 to Wigan and 30-8 to Warrington have hit the Tigers hard so far this season.

Considering the form you would expect Castleford to lose badly this weekend.

TIP: Catalans Dragons -14 handicap

London Broncos vs Warrington Wolves (Sun, 1500 GMT)

London are still looking for their first win but have had some hard games including Wigan, St Helens and Catalans.

They almost beat Hull FC but narrowly missed out on the win losing 28-24.

Warrington have gained traction since losing to Catalans on the opening week, winning three on the bounce.

You would not expect London to find their first win against Warrington but it could be close.

TIP: Winning margin 1-12 points
