John Cena, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and five other WWE superstars who support football clubs?

John Cena

The WWE is the pinnacle of professional wrestling and is the home to some of the biggest names in the sport but, which football teams do they support?

Wrestlemania 39 is just around the corner and some fans can't wait for the biggest event of WWE's season to take place.

To get in the spirit, Planet Sport takes a look at which football teams some of the WWE's biggest names support - there are bound to be some surprises along the way.

John Cena - Tottenham

Arguably one of the biggest names the WWE has ever produced chose to support the club in 2011 after a promotional tour he went on took him to White Hart Lane.
He has been pictured in a Spurs shirt but, since the tour, he hasn't been seen in their stadium.
Despite supporting Spurs, the wrestler has been to watch their rivals Chelsea in the final game of the 2021/22 season.

Zack Gibson - Liverpool

Among the list of football supporters in WWE, it is unlikely that anyone follows the sport more closely than Zack Gibson.
The NXT superstar was born in Liverpool and has supported the team since he was a child.

Gibson's in-ring persona revolves around football with the wrestler even donning the club's scarfs on some of his ring walks.

Sheamus - Liverpool

The Celtic Warrior makes his alleigance to Liverpool known and whenever questioned about his support, he can always back it up.

When partaking in tag team matches as the bar, Liverpool's badge was even sewn into his attire.

He has a vast collection of Liverpool shirts with some even being worn during some of the interviews he conducts.
He also regularly posts about Liverpool on his Twitter page, further staking his claim as the biggest football supporter in WWE's roster.

Finn Balor - Tottenham

Following his brothers footsteps, Balor has been a Spurs fan since primary school.

He attended the 2019 Champions League final where his beloved Tottenham lost to Liverpool.

He is also in regular attendance to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium when he's in the UK.

Mick Foley - Sheffield United

Following Billy Sharp's 'socko' celebration as a homage to Foley in 2019, yet another football and wrestling crossover was made.

The celebration led to Sharp hosting the WWE legend for a breakfast in his home.
Since their meeting, Foley has pledged himself to be a Sheffield United supporter.

Triple H - West Ham

Despite Triple H often mentioning his support of West Ham, the reason for his alleigance is unknown.

He is often photographed doing the hammer pose and has even sent a message to Declan Rice asking him to stay with the London-based club.

Steve Austin - Bolton Wanderers

Yes, you read that right. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin supports League One club Bolton Wanderers.
However, there is a genuine reason to this bizarre matchup.

When the Soccer AM name held more weight than it does now, they often had WWE stars on the show as guests.

When a wrestler said they didn't support a team, they were asked to draw out a team from a hat. In this scenario, Steve Austin drew Bolton.
Hence why now, Austin 'supports' Bolton.

Drew McIntyre - Rangers

Another superstar who would put his name forward as the biggest football supporter in the WWE is Scotsman, Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre has been in the roster consistently since joining in 2007, aside from a four year gap between 2014-2018.

The 37-year-old has supported Rangers all his life and has been around for the highs such as the Europa League final as well as the lows of administration.
He also often posts about the club on his social media pages.
