Paris Olympics 2024 acca tips - Three outsiders can pay out at massive odds in track and pool

Daniel Wiffen, Bobby Finke and Gregorio Paltrinieri at the 2024 Paris Olympics

We’re really going for gold this weekend as our Olympics treble across athletics and swimming pays out at a whopping 31/1.

The athletics are underway and swimming continues this weekend, as we look to make the most of an action-packed schedule to turn a profit.

This weekend’s acca comprises athletics and swimming and is currently available at odds of 31/1 as we look to profit from a trio of underdogs.

Weekend Olympics acca

China to win 100m Medley Relay

Josh Kerr to win the 1500m race

Bobby Finke to win the 1500m Freestyle

100m Medley Relay (Saturday)

The United States are favourites to win the 4x100m Medley Relay and for good reason.

They’ve never lost a Medley Relay event and Adam Peaty’s potential absence would simplify things.

It gives them one less team to worry about if he can't race as the silver medalists from Tokyo, Great Britain, would be significantly weakened. Even if he does feature, we still fancy the States to be too strong across the board.

On the other hand, the main threat is China. Two of the four Americans from the last games will be replaced, and the Chinese are, at least on paper, capable of producing quicker individual times.

Pan Zhanle is likely to have the biggest say and he was on fire earlier this week.

Men’s 1500m Freestyle Swim (Sunday)

Republic of Ireland’s Daniel Wiffen made history by winning the gold in the 800m earlier this week and he’ll face another stiff test when he jumps back into the water with the likes of Bobby Finke and Gregorio Paltrinieri this weekend.

He came from behind to overhaul the Italian with a quick last 50m when claiming the gold and his win has impacted the odds for the 1500m.

We’re expecting a particularly quick time, perhaps under 7:40, which is a time Wiffen has only beaten once.

Granted, he’s the only entrant to finish around 7:40 this season, but Finke and Samuel Short have produced lifetime bets that comfortably beat Wiffen.

It’s also worth noting that Finke often hasn’t needed to produce his best this season and he could well post a season-best as he looks to defend his Tokyo 2021 crown.

Men’s 1500m race (Tuesday)

Jakob Ingebritsen is the bookie’s favourite to claim the gold medal having won the gold medal in Tokyo. He’s also produced the third-fastest mile in history, so he’s no slouch.

The Norweigan set an Olympic and European record as he won on 3 minutes and 28.32 in Tokyo.

He may be the fastest in the field, but race tactics will be key. Ingebritsen always makes a laboured start and relies on his speed.

If Great Britain’s Josh Kerr can set a high tempo and give him a bigger gap to make up in the latter stages of the race, he can beat him again, just as he did at numerous European Championships in recent seasons.
