Mike Krack: Busy F1 calendar complicates matters for Aston Martin

The Spanish Grand Prix last weekend added to Aston Martin's woes, with both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll failing to secure top-ten finishes again.

This marks the second time in three races that neither driver has made it into the top ten, highlighting a troubling trend for the team.

Currently sitting in fifth place in the Constructors' Championship, Aston Martin are 30 points ahead of RB but nearly 100 points behind Mercedes, who occupy the next position in the standings.

This gap underscores the challenges the team faces in closing the performance deficit to their rivals.

Fernando Alonso, who began the season with six consecutive top ten finishes, has seen his form dip in recent races.

While he managed a sixth-place finish in Montreal, he failed to score points in Imola, Monaco, and Barcelona, placing him ninth in the Drivers' Championship.

Despite the ongoing development of new upgrades for the AMR24, Aston Martin's team principal Mike Krack has admitted that the calendar makes it challenging to implement changes and see immediate improvements.

"You have now five races in six weeks," said Krack. "That is one of the issues that you have.

"We had quite a lot of understanding after Monaco, Imola. And Canada as well, where we scored 14 points by the way with the same car. But it's about fixing [the problems].

"You have no time, that's the main problem at the moment. So we have to hang on like this, get the best out of the car each weekend and bring these parts as quick as possible."
