Wolverhampton each-way racing tip: Warminster can bounce back at a tidy price

Liam Keniry at Wolverhampton racecourse

Our partners at Tipstrr have been scouring their data to provide us with one of their most strongly tipped runners in the penultimate race on Wolverhampton’s Friday evening card.

20:00 Wolverhampton: Boost Your Acca at BetMGM Handicap - Div 1 (7 furlongs)

Two wins and three runner-up spots in seven outings is the platform on which Harry The Haggler has been installed as the short-priced favourite, and Stuart Williams’ four-year-old will take some beating if able to reproduce the form that saw him win a 13-runner handicap at Kempton last time out in November.

His biggest challenge is likely to come from the mount of Billy Loughnane, who will quite literally be looking to run Circles around his rivals, and having done the bulk of his racing at Dundalk, Anthony McCann’s five-year-old looks capable of making an impact on his first trip to England.

Planet Sport Bet: Bet £20+ cash on any runner in the race and if Harry The Haggler wins by more than 1 length, get a £5 Free Bet

A few of this nine-strong field appear to be outsiders for a reason, although bottom-weighted My Opinion is only three races on from a useful win at Chelmsford in September, and might be capable of making the most of the three-pound claim of in-form Gina Mangan (five wins in her last 20 rides).

There’s also been something of a buzz within the Tipstrr camp for the Katie Scott-trained Warminster, who has been knocking on the door of adding to his solitary success during a busy 14-race 2023 campaign.

Two runs in December saw the four-year-old finish less than a length behind the winner (second of 12 at Newcastle and fourth of 10 at Wolverhampton), with jockey Phil Dennis on board for each ride, and he notably returns to the saddle here.

Dennis missed Warminster's seventh-placed finish at Wolverhampton six days ago, but that outcome can be easily excused after being badly hampered a furlong out, leaving no time to recover.

Suggested best bet: Warminster each-way in the 20:00 at Wolverhampton
