Wolverhampton each-way tip: All-weather return set to suit Blue Collar Lad

Wolverhampton’s evening meeting concludes with a wide-open handicap that has produced a flurry of activity among Tipstrr’s horse racing experts.

While the three market leaders of Island Native, Kodi Noir and Voltaic all hold legitimate claims in their one right, their betting value carries question marks in such a top-heavy market.

With four each-way places widely available, that approach appears to be the wiser option, with even the rank outsider Buachaill attracting a smattering of attention among Tipstrr’s each-way aficionados.

That would provide a tasty return, but more realistic options also abound: the consistency of Ticket To Alaska suggest he could be value for money despite an outside draw, while Jamie Osborne’s Style Of Life was a promising runner-up last time out and might be an unknown quantity on her handicap debut.

However, ready to shake off some recent below-par performances is the Robyn Brisland-trained Blue Collar Lad, who should put in a better showing on return to his preferred all-weather surface.

That’s not to suggest this four-year-old gelding is not capable on turf, as he proved to good effect when landing a 13-runner handicap over seven furlongs at Lingfield in June.

However it was during his winter campaign on artificial tracks that Blue Collar Lad showed his most consistent form, with his seven outings yielding a one-mile win at Lingfield, along with four each-way places.

This extended one-mile trip should be ideal, as indeed should be the booking of the capable Kevin Stott, who boasts an impressive 46% place rate from his last 169 rides at Wolverhampton, including 34 victories (20% win rate).

Suggested bet: Blue Collar Lad each-way in the 20:30 at Wolverhampton
