Wolverhampton best bet: Kit Gabriel primed to progress under new trainer
From the 400+ runners lining up for Thursday's meetings, racing pundit Steve Jones, of CD Systems fame on Tipstrr, has sorted the wheat from the chaff to provide us with his best value Daily Bargain.
18:15 Goodwood: William Hill Epic Boost Racing League Race 30 Handicap (6 furlongs)
Strong preference, particularly at the early prices, is for a couple of the four-year-olds, with Kit Gabriel looking a big player as he makes his second appearance for David Loughnane, who acquired him from Amy Murphy at the end of July.
His stable debut was highly promising as he outran a very big price to miss the places by just a neck in a Class 4 over 6f at Pontefract.
He hadn’t raced at all for 263 days and his new connections will now know a lot more about him, so he can be expected to come on a good deal for that return to action.

Interestingly, his new trainer switches him back to this course and distance, over which he made his final appearance for Murphy in November last year.
On that occasion, he was beaten only a couple of lengths as he finished a never-nearer fourth of 11, missing the places by just a neck despite missing the break in what was a Class 4 handicap of a very similar standard to today’s.
He ran off a mark of 78, so he looks of major interest off his revised mark of 76 following a stable debut run which saw him break smartly from the gates.
His comeback run gave every indication that he has been rejuvenated by his move to this yard, and a big run looks on the cards this time under his very good Irish rider, Dylan McGonagle.
Suggested bet: Kit Gabriel in the 18:15 at Wolverhampton
- Tip advised at odds of 6/1 by Steve Jones who runs CD Systems Daily Bargain on Tipstrr
Of the others, Bear Profit was the subject of a significant gamble when he ran in a higher-graded Class 3 handicap over six furlongs at Chelmsford last time.
Backed in from 7/1 to 9/2 in the last few minutes before the start, he was badly hampered before halfway and then again in the home straight before finishing in midfield with running left.
If the money meant that he was ready to bounce back to top form then he is well worth another chance here because he is down in grade off an unchanged mark and he has run well here before.
Next best bet: Bear Profit in the 18:15 at Wolverhampton
