15:15 (Pontefract) Sunshine Souls

Sunshine Soul can put a disappointing recent effort behind her with victory in the Tattersalls £40,000 EBF Spindrifter Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Pontefract.

George Boughey’s charge trailed home last of seven runners at York in mid-June, with connections pointing to the easy conditions as the reason for her toiling some 18 lengths behind the winner.

Her rider eased her down once it became clear her chance had gone and Sunshine Soul is likely better judged on her previous run when second to subsequent Royal Ascot winner Leovanni on quick ground.

Beaten two and a quarter lengths at Nottingham on that run at the start of June, Sunshine Soul showed much more promise and a return to that level on suitable ground should be good enough.

15:45 (Pontefract) Old Cock

Old Cock can enhance his already pleasing record of two wins in three starts this term with another victory in the bettingsites.co.uk Betting Sites Handicap.

Fourth on debut at Newcastle in April, he has not looked back since, breaking his maiden at Ayr later that month before enjoying a short break until June.

Ed Bethell then sent him to Haydock where he made the leap from a mile to 10 furlongs from a starting mark of 77.

Old Cock needed the extra two furlongs to assert that day, staying on all the way to the line to eventually triumph by half a length.

Now rated 6lb higher, Old Cock will have to improve again, but he remains relatively unexposed.

16:15 (Pontefract) Daytona Lady

Daytona Lady ran well in the first-time cheekpieces at Wetherby last time out over 5½f.

The four-year-old came into that race with good form and could go well again in the Northern Commercials Order Your New Iveco Vehicle Handicap.

She has the leading chance in the race alongside Dicko The Legend who stepped up on his second attempt for a new yard finishing 0.75L third at Hamilton tackling 5f.

16:45 (Pontefract) True Nation

True Nation brings good form as the four-year-old was 0.5L second at Hamilton in her latest race.

She should be the favourite for the Wayne Conway Memorial Handicap as Doomsday couldn’t quite get in front last time out when he came second by a nose over 1m at Thirsk a week ago.

Coloane was last seen finishing a distant sixth at Catterick in May over 7f on soft ground but could still be within a chance come Monday's last race at Pontefract.

Pontefract tips in full:

Pontefract: 14.10 Lennon, 14.40 Sound Reason, 15.15 Sunshine Souls, 15.45 Old Cock, 16.15 Daytona Lady, 16.45 True Nation.
