14:25 (Newbury) Hawksbill
Hawksbill is a Hugo Palmer-trained colt who produced an eye-catching fourth at Sandown on debut. Can put that experience to good use here.
With trainer Ralph Beckett the Camelot newcomer Sir Dinadan along with the Clive Cox Pinatubo filly Pantani both warrant respect debuting.
16:10 (Newbury) Symbol Of Honour
Symbol Of Honour can bounce back from defeat at Royal Ascot in the Ire-Incentive – Pays To Buy Irish Rose Bowl Stakes.
The son of Havana Grey was a well-beaten favourite on his racecourse debut in May at Newmarket when he trailed in nine lengths behind The Actor.
But he responded in the best possible fashion 11 days later at Lingfield when stepped up from five furlongs to six to break his maiden.
That earned the Charlie Appleby-trained youngster a shot in the Coventry Stakes and despite being outpaced at the halfway stage he kept on well and was a one-and-a-quarter-length sixth.
He has since been gelded and the drop in grade from Group Two to Listed should benefit him and in the hands of William Buick he can prosper in Berkshire.
16:45 (Newbury) Mrs Twig
Mrs Twig can complete a hat-trick in the HY Ross Brooke Fillies’ Handicap.
After an indifferent three-year-old campaign when the Mastercraftsman filly failed to find the winner’s enclosure in seven attempts, this season has been a completely different story.
Trained by William Muir and Chris Grassick, she broke her maiden on her seasonal reappearance on the all-weather at Kempton, finishing a length clear after taking it up a furlong out.
A switch to turf and Newbury saw her come fourth next time out, but a return to the all-weather at Kempton saw her back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Gold Aura.
She followed that up at Newmarket late last month when taking over the lead in the final strides in hands of Tom Marquand and is well worth sticking with in this sort of form.
17:20 (Newbury) Open Secret
Open Secret can take advantage of bottom weight and lose his maiden tag in the BetVictor Handicap.
The Charlie Johnston inmate has been placed in five of his six starts and the scene is set for him to finally get his nose in front after a pair of second-place finishes at Goodwood and Chester.
