Kempton racing tip (1900): Back course and distance winner Dark Side Thunder

Eleven runners will line up for the 1900 at Kempton on Wednesday evening where Soar Above will be hoping to justify his price at the top of the market.

He is a three-time course and distance winner so he has to be taken seriously, but it’s been thirteen runs since he last scored a victory.

He’s paid for that winless with a plummeting mark but that means he is now 1 lb lower than his victory in this race in 2020.

Dark Side Thunder has recorded three wins from 17 runs this term and is also a course and distance winner.

His last triumph for Jessica Macey came last time out at Kempton, building on a string third-place finish before that, so we know he’s in good form.

Elsewhere, Urban Decay, McLean House and Urban Paradise are all course and distance winners and have all won here this year.

Mclean House is lightly raced and may have a better chance than his 8/1 price tag suggests now he’s back at a preferred course.

He put in a solid performance at Wolverhampton last time; if he shows further improvement, he should be in the final reckoning.

Crack Regiment is another who you’d say could make a splash from a low mark, but only if he can rediscover some form we haven’t seen in 2023.

Perfect Thunder, Spacer, Matty Too and Dayman can probably expect to be outclassed.
