Kempton best bets: Private Bryan and Bond Spirit carry each-way hopes

Kempton Park

Our friends in the Tipstrr office have put their vast team of racing pundits to work in order to bring us their best-value selection from the very last race on Kempton’s all-weather evening card.

21:00 Kempton: Unibet More Boost in More Races Handicap (1 mile 3 furlongs)

Bookies and bettors alike are all over Red Dwarf, and after several frame finishes either side of a tidy win at Southwell in April, there’s plenty to like about John Butler’s six-year-old, not least the booking of Oisin Murphy to take his reins for the first time.

Last-time out winners Chico Dulce and Dillydingdillydong are clearly a threat if able to replicate those recent performances, but catching the collective eye of Tipster’s team of experts is recent course-and-distance winner, Private Bryan.

This Ed de Giles-trained five-year-old had been knocking on the door of the winner’s circle for quite a while before finally being allowed in over this trip in January, easing half a length clear of the runner-up, while also claiming the notable scalps of the aforementioned Red Dwarf and Dillydingdillydong, who finished three lengths further adrift.

Suggested best bet: Private Bryan each-way in the 21:00 at Kempton

Lightly raced in two outings on the turf at Ffos Las, he reappeared first in June and then again six days ago, when he was far from disgraced in finishing fourth of seven over a shorter 10-furlong trip.

Now back on his preferred synthetic surface, and as the scene of his only win to date, connections are clearly optimistic of making his presence felt again under the same jockey, Daniel Muscutt, who arrives fresh from landing a winner at Wolverhampton on Monday night.

Elsewhere, there’s also been significant interest shown in the less-backed Bond Spirit, whose best all-weather form has been at Southwell, but who has also made his presence felt over this course and distance in the past.

A handful of near misses on the all-weather were converted into an eyecatching win on season turf debut at Bath in May, while he clearly needed a stronger gallop when finishing down the field at Windsor last time out six weeks ago.

Now back on the all-weather, he is in the form to give Dylan Hogan a good ride here, and with four places readily available, he certainly merits each-way consideration while carrying a double-digit price.

Suggested best bet: Bond Spirit each-way in the 21:00 at Kempton
