Goodwood racing tip (1540): Back King Of Conquest to conquer My Prospero

William Haggas’ My Prospero was a very progressive three-year-old with wins at Newbury, Sandown and Saint Cloud and will go off a clear favourite here.

He returned to action at Newbury after a 217-day break in May and looked extremely promising in a Group 2 race at York last time out.

The ground is expected to be ideal on Wednesday but he’ll face stiffer competition than the odds suggest in the form of course and distance winners King Of Conquest and Savvy Victory.

William Buick’s horse will also appreciate the ground and not so long ago rattled off four consecutive victories including a couple on soft.

Savvy Victory’s win over course and distance and their most recent triumph at Sandown came against very different company, so Ryan Moore would need to help him find a lot more here.

There’s no doubt My Prospero has laid down a marker with his runs to date but there isn’t enough in the price to warrant backing, so Race-Ready Tips is taking a punt on the classy King Of Conquest.
