Hamilton each-way-tip: Temper Trap looking for sixth win at favourite course

Hamilton racecourse
While it’s hard to make a case against the firm favourite in this eight-runner handicap, there’s enough quality elsewhere to attract the attention of some of Tipstrr’s each-way pundits.
16:40 Hamilton: Bardykes Farm Nursery School Handicap (1 mile 1 furlong)
Iain Jardine’s Can’t Stop Now appears to hold all the aces after backing up a tidy win at carlisle a month ago with an arguably more impressive close-up second at Chester nine days ago.
If the bookmakers have done their sums correctly, then the favourite’s main challengers will come in the form of Global Spirit, whose victory at Pontefract four days ago makes him the only last-time-out winner in this line-up, and Leap Year Lad, who won over a mile here in May, and backed that up with another win over 10 furlongs at Haydock three outings ago in July.
However, should any of those three falter, then the consensus in the Tipstrr camp is that Tim Easterby’s Temper Trap is lurking ominously beneath the bookies’ radar.

This experienced six-year-old is no stranger to Hamilton’s winners’ circle, having won here five times over this distance, including back in August when he defied top weight to win with plenty in hand.
That success was bookended by similar convincing victories at Doncaster and Ripon to make up an impressive hat-trick, all three under different jockeys.
One of those was David Allan, who boasts a respectable 14% win rate at Hamilton and should get better out of Temper Trap than his claiming jockey did at Carlisle last time out 12 days ago, and the pairing look capable of being in the final shake-up back at this favoured venue.
Suggested bet: Temper Trap each-way in the 16:40 at Hamilton
