Chelmsford racing tip (2000): Jacquelina ready to build on promising return to action

Chelmsford call off Saturday card due to storm damage
Our partners at Tipstrr have run their numbers to provide us with one of their most widely-tipped horses from what looks to be a competitive five-furlong dash.
20:00 Chelmsford: Racing Welfare Handicap (5 furlongs)
There’s not much separating the market leaders, both in terms of betting odds and form, with both Suanni and Universal Grace expected to be in close contention if they can each back up promising recent outings..
Michael Appleby’s Mehmo has won three of his 14 outings this year, with several near misses to boot, and he is one to enter calculations under Billy Loughnane if he can shake off an uncharacteristically poor showing when coming last of 11 at Southwell last time out.
Catching the collective eye of Tipstrr’s pundits, however, is Phil McEntee’s capable filly Jacquelina, who was never out of the top four in seven summer outings, including a win at Chepstow and three runner-up spots.

That busy period earned the four-year-old a four-month break, from which she emerged with a satisfactory run over this course and distance just five days ago, finishing fifth of six, but barely two and a half lengths off the winner.
That run should have blown any cobwebs away, and her quick turnaround suggests more good things are expected from a filly with plenty of unspent energy in the tank.
She will be ridden for the first time by the trainer’s daughter, Grace, whose three-pound claim should further enhance their prospects, and she certainly appears to hold decent value at her current price of 7/1 or better.
Suggested bet: Jacquelina each-way in the 20:00 at Chelmsford
