Bath each-way tip (1640): Keeper’s Choice looking to rekindle former glories at favourite venue

Bath Racecourse

Racing pundit Richard Hutchinson, who runs his Won Racing Tip service on Tipstrr, has turned his expert eye for each-way value towards this competitive looking mile handicap at Bath.

16:40 Bath: BresBet Rewards Loyalty Handicap (1 mile)

Adrian Wintle tends to do well at Bath, where he is third in the trainer standings over the past five years with a 23% strike rate (24 winners from 103 starts) and a superb £58 level stakes profit.

That impressive strike rate goes up to 32% (6 from 19) when you look at three-year-old+ handicaps over the past couple of seasons.
Keeper's Choice has helped boost Wintle's stats as she loves Bath, winning three and placing four times from just 12 starts here. Three of her top five runs have been at Bath and her handicap wins have been off marks as high as 73.

The nine-year-old mare ran well last season without success, suggesting she was in the grip of the handicapper, who landed her with an early-season mark of 75 which ended down at 68.
This season Keeper's Choice hasn't been in form with two below-par runs, but she was backed on seasonal debut (at Bath), so there was probably enough stable confidence to indicate that she was going well enough at home.
For her third run of the season she should be fit enough to run her race and now she returns to Bath there is a good chance she can bounce back to form.

The mare's mark is now down to 59, which makes her appear nicely handicapped and Christian Howarth claims a handy five pounds, netting the mark down to just 54. Christian has ridden winners for the yard from only a few chances, so he looks an excellent choice.

For a prominent runner she has a nice draw in stall 4 and while last night's 33/1 price has evaporated, she keeps her value down to 14/1, especially with most bookies paying out on four places.
Suggested bet: Keeper's Choice each-way in the 16:40 at Bath
As a footnote, I almost went with Jamie Osborne's Lunar Space, who is down 37pounds since moving from Ireland.

All his best form was when wearing headgear, which has previously been left off by Osborne until now, whencheekpieces go back on and his daughter, Saffie, now takes the ride.

I suggest a reverse forecast with Keepers Choice, which would pay handsomely for anyone who fancies a cautious flutter in that direction (but this is not an official tip).
