16:30 (Ballinrobe) Winter Fog

Winter Fog can make his first start since September a winning one in the McHale Pro Glide Hurdle.

Looked better than ever in the early stages of last season and fitness is rarely an issue for horses from this yard.

The main danger comes from the G1-winning chaser Beacon Edge was competitive in Graded staying hurdles for much of last season. Finished a narrow second at Punchestown (2m4 1/2f) attempting latest.

Fascile Mode didn’t progress as hoped after easy Punchestown maiden hurdle win, but should be respected at this level.

No Looking Back has been lightly-raced of late. Player on old form.

17:30 (Ballinrobe) Toto Too

Toto Too disappointed at Punchestown. Won three of his four on previous starts and remains unexposed. Might be capable of overcoming this mark.

Western Walk missed most of last season. Latest fourth in a Listed handicap hurdle at Punchestown indicated he retains ability, so warrants consideration.

Junior Rattler was rewarded for his consistency with a Tipperary victory in latest. Versatile with regards to trip and ground so a 7lb rise might not stop him.

Brampton Belle didn’t really take to fences, but could be on a good mark revisiting hurdles.

18:30 (Ballinrobe) Romeo Magico

There is a Listed contest at Ballinrobe in the McHale Mayo National Handicap Chase over nearly three miles.

Emmet Mullins’ Romeo Magico looks a likely candidate under Rachael Blackmore, a six-year-old who had a fruitful last season hunter chasing.

He took on the National fences to finish sixth in the Foxhunters’ at Aintree and was second when last seen in a hunter chase at Killarney in May.

This is a step up in grade in a professional sphere, but he clearly has ability and the rider on board suggests there is confidence in his bid here.

19:30 (Ballinrobe) Kalix Delabarriere

Willie Mullins has done well with the progeny of Galiway and his Kalix Delabarriere looks an interesting newcomer by that sire.

Those with experience don’t set a particularly exacting standard so he makes for strong appeal.

Seo Linn is also noted. She represents a powerful flat stable and boasts a smart pedigree. Market to inform on chances.

Tonaghneave Well finished fourth making debut at Down Royal three weeks ago. Sets the standard of those with form and should also be respected.
