GUNNER (4) is a three-start maiden who could only manage to finish fourth at his latest appearance over 7½f at Bendigo. This looks a nice race so expect him to be right in the finish. ELECTRIC BEC (7) finished second, beaten 2 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7½f at Mornington after she was in the firing line on the bend. Hard to beat in this suitable race. CHESAPEAKE BABE (6) is yet to break through in six runs but has been thereabouts. Last start was 8 lengths away in fourth over 1m at Seymour. Has the addition of blinkers. Shapes well and is among the main hopes. DEELER (1) finished third last start over 1m1 1/2f at Traralgon, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will be rock-hard fit. Capable of another top-three outcome.
