ASMITA (2) stepped out for her debut over 5½f at Bendigo back on July 25 and finished 11th, beaten 7 lengths. Will be better for that run. Leading contender. GIVE FAITH (4) stepped out for the first time last start and was just fair in finishing fifth at Geelong over 5¾f, beaten 6 lengths. Plenty of scope for improvement and worth following up. IMMORTAL JOY (6) turned in a nice run when fresh from a lay-off two starts back at Bairnsdale then missed the placings last time when 5.5 lengths from the winner in sixth over 5f at Cranbourne. Well placed and is among the leading players. TE ANAU (9) is back after a break of five-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff she finished ninth over 5f at Mornington. Rates highly on best form and a bright return wouldn't surprise.
