MAGGIE'S SON (5) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 8 lengths, over 1m2 1/2f at Benalla. Likely to measure up. CRAFTY BOSS (3) is yet to break through in 16 runs. Finished seventh at his last appearance over 1m4f at Bendigo on August 29. Cannot be ruled out in this suitable assignment. CHEMEHUEVI (2) finished out of the money on debut two starts back then was beaten 8 lengths when eighth in a 1m contest at Seymour two-and-a-half weeks ago. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the key runners.
