Group 1 placegetter OVIATT CLASS (4) showed little early speed and was always well back last start when fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over this journey at Santa Anita (Dirt). Finds an easier assignment and can take this out. TEXTHELEGEND (3) did a great job to score by 2.25 lengths over this course and distance last start in a far better run. Likely to be there at the finish again. DESHAMBEAU (1) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on December 9 finishing ninth and beaten 10 lengths over 1m at Golden Gate Fields (Synthetic). Among the better hopes. ORTH (2) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 8 lengths away in sixth over 5½f at this track. Better than recent efforts suggest.
