LOVIN' LAUGHS (2) showed early speed from an outside draw last time and led for much of the way before fading to finish fourth, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 6½f at Bendigo. Expected to be in this for a long way. ALTAI RANGER (5) was in the money two starts back at Geelong but couldn't back it up last time when ninth, beaten 7 lengths, at Warrnambool over 6½f after being prominent at the corner. Has the class to take this out. LEICA TROOPER (8) resumed two weeks ago over 6½f at Corowa and was only beaten 2 lengths into fifth. Strips fitter and can figure in the finish. BOX VALE (12) raced below his best last time when eighth over 1m3f at Pakenham Synthetic, beaten 10 lengths. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better.
