PRIVATE TENDER (5) wound up strongly but just failed to pick up the winner when fresh from a lay-off as favourite last start over 6f at Warwick. Will take a lot from that hitout. Nicely placed to play a major role. POWER FLASH (13) showed early speed from an outside draw and held a forward position before fading to finish seventh, beaten 3.5 lengths, last start over 6¾f at Doomben. Will be on the speed in transit and is expected to take some running down. REPHRASE (17) settled well back last start and never threatened when 6 lengths from the winner in tenth over 6f at Gold Coast Poly. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. ASHFALL (3) is a promising type who hasn't raced since finishing 6 lengths away in seventh over 1m at Warwick Farm on January 26 which was the only run of that prep. Fitter for recent trials. Backmarker who keeps coming. Must be respected.
